Thanks PCOS Research Team for your great work and willingness to help women with PCOS! I did an 8 month Paleo diet study that wasn’t easy, but absolutely worth the effort. I learned a lot about PCOS itself and how it affects my body. I also learned why the Paleo diet is so powerful when treating PCOS. During this journey, I wasn’t alone. I had an amazing diet coach who answered my questions about the diet, resolved my concerns, and provided new recipes at any time! Most importantly, this diet helped me regulate my period. After doing this study, I feel much better, both mentally and physically, and I am more confident in managing my PCOS.

Making the choice and commitment to eat as healthy and raw as possible in this present moment in time was the most exciting, daunting, yet self-loving decision I have ever made. Being part of this study has shown me that the moment you choose to truly live a better life you can do so with amazing people and resources to help you every step of the way! UCSF doctors and staff have provided much needed hope, strength, knowledge, and best of all, personal attention to me on this challenging yet very rewarding journey. I am thankful with them and with myself for this opportunity and look forward to reaching my goal. The goal of being a healthy conscientious beautiful young woman who did her part to help herself and others. One who overcame one of the most challenging, physical and emotional disorders affecting women today. Doing my part to increase knowledge on this disorder is vital and for me felt as a personal responsibility, because whatever good comes out of this should be known by all! Thank you!

“Your food choices can have a powerful effect on keeping PCOS under control since high insulin levels and excess weight are key markers for women with PCOS. Focusing on high quality calories that are rich in fiber and low in simple sugars (along with exercise) is a great first step.”
